Meetings are at 5PM in RCH 207 and at 7PM in RCH 305 this term. Watch this space for room changes and upcoming tournaments. 

Since classes end on Tuesday, our last meeting of the term will be our Tuesday meeting, at 5:15, in RCH 306.

Nothing else exciting is going on.  But I think that is pretty exciting.  I am sure there will be some sort of enthusiastic socializing afterwards.

Thanks to everyone who showed up to the German Quickie, you have done Waterloo proud.

For those of you who missed out, Waterloo dominated the tournament.  We comprised more than half of the tournament, and proved the validity of statistics by winning more than half of the podium spots.

This week, we will just be having meetings.

Everyone should come out, and give awesome debate speeches.  I am confident that we can repeat our performance at Novice, and dominate the finals again.  We just need you guys to come out and practice.

We have one more car spot, if anybody wants a ride down from Waterloo.  We will be leaving at 10am on Saturday, and getting back around 11pm on Sunday. ( Sunday is bonus, not part of the tournament, you can bus back any time Sunday if you are in a hurry or you can join us for random free concerts )

The exciting news of the week is that the German Quickie has been scheduled.

On July 9th,
At York University,
for $5,
There will be 3 rounds of style debate, in a crazy format, followed by a big party.

If there are enough people who want to, we can ...maybe... use our feds discount to get a rental van and split the cost across whoever is going.

Reg will be $5 if you get yourself there, Greyhound, carpooling, or hitchhiking.  A bit more if you want in on a rental van, precise costs coming soon.

The tournament is always awesome and relaxed, the only problem is that Waterloo has never won.

This needs to change!

Also, I don't understand mailing lists.  Is anybody getting this via posterous?  Because I don't think that worked.

So, I was gonna change meeting times around, to better match people's schedules, but almost nobody indicated when they were available.

Equity

In other news, our Equity Officer for the term will be the always levelheaded, Michelle Wu.  If anything about the club atmosphere makes you uncomfortable, and you don't want to talk to the Exec about it, you should go to her.  She is really nice.

Exec Meeting

Today ( Tuesday, yes, I know this email is late ), after our meeting, we will have an exec meeting of sorts.  We will be planning out a bunch of things for the rest of the term, and everybody with opinions should show up.  Being on the executive really only means that we are *obligated* to be there, not that our opinions matter more than anybody else.  We will be going over DDT, seeing how to do it better next year.  Talking about events to run this term, talking about our training plans, as well as anything else that comes up.

Thanks to everyone who showed up and helped with DDT this weekend.  It went quite well, and we managed to have panels in every room thanks to you guys.  This happens every year, so stick around if you want to see it all again.

The only other important thing to note for this week is the Equity Officer.   By the end of this week we will need to close applications to be this term's equity officer, so if you are interested, apply in some way before then.
